Nelson Smiley – President

Nelson Smiley has been offering professional expertise to building owners for over twenty seven years. Nelson began his career with national general contractors after graduation from Purdue University in Construction Management. Nelson focused primarily on healthcare projects in Boston, Phoenix, Detroit, and Indianapolis. Nelson has completed schools, hospitals, university, industrial, libraries, and office building construction projects all over central Indiana.

With Nelson’s background as a general contractor he has a unique ability to understand the entire building construction process as well as entire building systems and how they interrelate. Nelson can not only take care of your roof leak but also take care of any other associated building maintenance or construction needs.

Nelson’s primary role at Foster Contracting is Chief Estimator.

Nelson is certified as a Registered Roof Observer with the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants. What this means is Nelson is bound to install your roof system according to the industry best practices as well as required continuing education in building enclosure science.

Julie

Julie Smiley – Project Executive

Julie completed her mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University at the top of her class. She carries that intellectual fortitude into her roofing career with a masterful grasp on building enclosure science. Julie is our company’s shining light. She can be trusted to complete all of our contractual work to the highest degree of quality and performance.

Julie joined Foster Contracting in 2019 and has managed all of our high end projects including, Bottleworks Hotel, Everwise Ampitheater at White River State Park, Damien Center, Washington Township Schools Early Learning Center, Indiana University various projects and many, many more.

Remington

Remington Seitz – Project Manager

Remington began his career with Foster Contracting is 2021 and spent the first year in the field installing various roof assemblies. Remington is now a project manager and currently managing projects at Indiana State University, Town of Avon, Westfield Washington School Corporation, Clark Pleasant School Corporation.

Trenton

Trenton Kirchner – Assistant Project Manager

Trenton began his career with Foster Contracting in 2024 and is currently working in the field for his first year. Trenton will transition to the office full time in 2026 and begin his training to managing projects.
